I arrived earlier today, and have spent pretty much the entire time since settling in and socializing. Keep an eye on the usual location for all the new pictures, and I’ll post here as I get the opportunity.

It’s that time of year where we all get a few days off to play with our synthesizers, and some of us are gearing up for the winter NAMM show in less than a month. Let this be a reminder that despite this blog’s usually-low rate of posts, I *will* be covering the NAMM show here again this year, so keep your eyes opened.

Towards the end of the day on Thursday, I was running around outside in the halls looking to meet up with friends, and was confronted with this horrific sight:

The Noisebug booth was full of these balloons Buchla and Associates had made for the show.

I’d never thought of the 200e as particularly “epicurean”, but maybe someone else feels differently…

Pig head on a stick! Nothing good ever comes from that…

except for the Mothership, apparently.

John Bowen had a much more complete version of his Solaris synthesizer, in black and white varieties. This thing is sounding great, and looking nearly done!

The Moog Foundation is planning a museum for all of the archived information they have collected. They say they have the building already picked out and ready to go, so now they’re working on the design. Here’s a picture of the posterboard they had up of the current design.

This guy was going around the show dressed as some scary hybrid between KISS and Elvis. His belt buckle said “Elviss”, I suppose that makes sense.

partied a little too hard the last couple days, so I’ve been slow giving updates. Filling in now so long as I have battery power (John Wayne Airport seems to be particularly lacking in power sources, shame on them!)
